Country Living Trophy mounts, horns and antlers are a strong presence in accessorizing these days. Restoration Hardware's new catalog has a great selection of very realistic taxidermy. I love the look of these but wanted to put my own twist on what I was seeing and how it would work in my home so I came up with a new vintage twist on the old trophy mount. I scored a few antlers at a garage sale that an old hunter had never mounted and attached them to small pieces of architectural salvage. The texture of the horns is such a beautiful, organic element I've come to appreciate.  I added pages from antique French books as an unexpected detail. Made a few extras for friends and clients to enjoy, too. Old, French, white, crumbly....perfect! They've come in handy this summer for hats, bags and the dog's leash. When the weather turns cool, they 'll make a great place to hang scarves.
