One of These Things Is Not Like The Other

Two of my favorite places to go for inspiration are far from the comforts of my suburban neighborhood and worth every minute it takes to get there.

Indulge Maison Decor is in the swankified neighborhood known as River Oaks. Provencal paradise indeed!

The store itself is beautiful and has an authentically French feel and atmosphere. It's the place to go for true French decor in Houston.

But not all budgets allow for a trip to Indulge. That's when I head to one of my other favorite stops:

The Guild Shop

The Guild Shop is also located in River Oaks and is THE BEST resale shop in Houston. Their inventory is huge and changes often as they receive donations daily (did I mention it's in River Oaks?) Pay attention to the price tags when you go.  The longer the item is there, the cheaper it gets. So let's see what was there today:

Inspired by the trip to Indulge was this wall sconce. Gorgeous.

A 4 piece set of gray wicker. Restoration Hardware has got this gray wicker trend really hot right now.

My personal favorite was this ships model in a glass display case  for $120.00.

A tri-fold room divider. Someone's old arts and crafts project  Could be used as a headboard.

Close up of the screen...so pretty.

Mirrors...every style.

Pretty brass bar cart.

This gray cabinet would be great as a media console.

Cowhides and antlers

Pretty storage boxes

So much great stuff!

I shop at both of these stores.  When I start a project with a client the budget dictates where we shop and how we prioritize the spending.  There are some things you might never see at a resale store, but if you're patient and have the time you can score big.
